How do I know which plan I need?

  • If you are a single person it would be the Individual Plan

  • If you have a family of more than 2 people, it would be the Family Plan (not all people must live under the same roof)

  • If you have a company it would be the Business Plan

  • If you have an event it would be event coverage

  • If you have a project that needs an ambulance on site, it would be the on-site ambulance service.

 

How do I join?

In all cases, an executive will contact you to fill out the contract form in PDF, which can be completed by computer, we coordinate the payment method and after 5 business days you will have your affiliate number, identification card and the active service.​

 

Does the membership have any limits on medical care?

  • The SEMM Plans do not have a limit of attention, nor call limits, nor do we make increases in rates for claims or for the use of it.​

 

Are there any age limits or laboratory tests to enter?

  • To obtain our membership, it is not necessary to take entrance laboratory tests and we do not have an age limit.

 

In what places can I request care?

  • For individual plans, care can be requested anywhere within the coverage area. It can be at home, at work, at a friend's house, shopping, etc. In business plans, coverage will depend on the type of plan contracted.

 

If my case warrants taking me to a hospital, which one do they take me to?

  • 90% of our attentions are resolved with treatment in place without the need to move. However, for those cases that warrant transfer to a hospital, we transfer the patient to their preferred hospital, in the case of public hospitals it will depend on the pathology and availability.

 

What areas do they cover? What hours do they work?

  • Panama City: Panama Metro, up to Mayor Díaz and up to Nuevo Tocumen.

  • City of Colón: City of Colón, Free Zone, to Sabanitas.

  • Arraiján and La Chorrera: From Panama Pacifico to Villa Rosario.

  • We work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

​Who makes up your medical team?

  • Technicians in Medical Emergencies (EMT): Professional of health, of attention of medical emergencies and disasters, which responds and attends to emergencies and medical emergencies. In addition to their university training, they are trained in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS). Our team follows not only our internal protocols but also international protocols for the development of care.

  • General Medicine Doctor: A medical professional who has the necessary knowledge and skills to diagnose and resolve with medical treatment and the necessary procedures. Serves from children to the elderly. All of our doctors are qualified to practice in the Republic of Panama.

  • Emergency vehicle operators (EVOs): He is the one who drives the ambulance safely to the destination, takes the best routes, uses acoustic and light signals according to the type of care and thanks to his training in first aid he supports the technician before the attentions.

 

If I am a member, can I make video consultations with a doctor?

 

Yes! You have unlimited video consultations, we leave you the steps:

 

  • Download our app from the App Store, Google Play, Huawei App Gallery or enter from a PC to www.semmpanama.com/telemedicina

  • Enter with your affiliate number: (Including hyphens as it appears on you SEMM ID)

  • Put the rest of your data

  • On the home screen, enter your symptoms and the reason for your call and press the blue VIDEO LLAMADA button.

 

With the SEMM app, do you send me the prescription of the medicines?

  • Yes, after the care you will receive the email that you registered in PDF format your medical report, the prescription and the laboratories in case they are required.

 

What other services can I request from the App?

  • Video consultations from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm

  • Emergencies and Urgencies from the S.O.S button - 24 hours

  • Ambulance Transfers, Home Injectables and Air Transfers (with preferential costs)
